This is for uel - the University of East London, both the Stratford campus and the Docklands campus.
This is not a very good place for further education. I note it's not even,in he Top Twenty of universities in London. The facilities are poor, the staff give the bare minimum (some are foreign and difficult to understand) and the admin people are rude and incompetent.
Circumstances dictated that I missed the opportunity for other colleges (to do my Master's) and therefore, out of pragmatism AND funds, I spent a year at uel. I don't recommend it.
You pay for what you receive and here, it's pretty scant. My tutors and teachers didn't care about the students and the classes reflected that. There is little support from them and invitations like, "Do e-mail me with any questions or comments" are just lip service.
The campus at Stratford is a lot better than he Docklands one although neither place at night is pleasant. The library at the Stratford campus is open 24 hours a day which is handy. The accommodation at the Docklands campus is absolutely wretched. Loud, dirty, smelly and very far from London.
When we tried to book a room for further studying, it was almost impossible. We were denied then eventually, after being successful, were rudely turfed out after five minutes with the person telling us they had no knowledge of the said booking.
The teachers were extremely poor and after giving out the rules for a lesson, would disappear for up to an hour. The directions for work (and homework) was often confusing. The standard of teaching was the most disappointing part of my experience.
This is a place you come if you have no money and/or you've failed to enter any other institution. I note that in a recent survey of the top 20 London Universities, it doesn't even enter.
If you are going here because you can't enter another Univeristy (because of money other such business), delay your education. It is a very poor standard here.
